Dakota Meyer Speaks Out Awkwardly After Bristol Palin Pregnancy Bombshell, Dodges Paternity Mystery

When Dakota Meyer speaks out, many listen, but his recent statements are being called awkward and dodgy.

The Congressional Medal of Honor recipient broke his silence in the wake of an announcement his ex-fiancee, Bristol Palin, made Thursday that she is pregnant.

Meyer, 27, took to his Facebook page on Friday, spoke out and admonished the news media over its selective reporting styles. Dakota believes the world remains enamored in stories — “dog and pony show” — that hold little weight compared to more pressing global issues. He encourages viewers to beware of the media’s propaganda, citing a People report.

And while Dakota Meyer had something to say after Bristol broke the pregnancy news, there was something missing from his verbiage. Noticeably absent was any mention of his ex-wife-to-be or the paternity of the unborn child.

“Within the past 24 hours there have been three terrorist style attacks across the world. There has been an incident at a U.S. company owned gas factory in Lyon, France Leaving one dead and two injured. Another incident in Tunisia with 28 people lost in an assault on a West tourist, mostly British. And finally, a blast at a Shiite mosque in Kuwait.”

Dakota uploaded a picture of him wrapped in a robe smoking a pipe while sitting comfortably on a sofa. Meyer is seen reading a handbook by the U.S. Marines Corps while a sword rests on his lap. A caption at the bottom of the photo reads: “Still waiting…”

“All ISIS/ISIL attacks and all overshadowed by the dog and pony show being put on here domestically by some politicians and mass media. The news that feeds the ‘inquiring mind want to know’ is inconsequential compared to that which is truly relevant but lost on the back page. I urge you to go beyond what is spoon-fed to you and see what is truly going on out there.”

Meanwhile, Bristol responded to critics who spoke out against her for having another baby out of wedlock. She too took to social media with a message to the public.

On national television, Palin talked to Oprah Winfrey after the birth of her son, Tripp. Then, she made a pledge of celibacy until she is married.

And despite efforts by Winfrey to challenge Bristol to rethink her words due to the pressure of abstinence in her age group, she reiterated her promise. Ordinarily, having a second — third or even a forth — child before marriage doesn’t make headline news for non-celebs. However, as the daughter of a former Alaskan governor, most of what she does is scrutinized.

Palin also shared her message on Friday, saying she was ignoring the negativity. On the day she made the announcement of her second pregnancy, Bristol acknowledged it was likely to be a “huge disappointment” to her friends and loved ones. By the way, she’s still pro-life.

Although Dakota Meyer spoke out, his words offered little on the paternity. The public can only guess he is the baby’s daddy, but there is a contingency that believes Palin may have cheated, and this partly explains why their engagement for a May marriage was abruptly called off.
