Will Ciara and Chris Brown perform “Scream” during the BET Awards’ tribute to Janet Jackson?
That is the question that has been on the minds of many fans and critics since the tribute was confirmed by BET Tuesday.
BET confirmed on its website Tuesday that the legendary 49-year-old pop diva will receive the Ultimate Icon award during the BET Awards broadcast Sunday night.

Chris Brown is a confirmed performer for the BET Awards as well. Therefore, it is possible that he could join Ciara on stage as a last-minute surprise for fans — performing the impressive duo choreography that Michael and Janet mastered for the record-breaking music video twenty years ago.

How would Janet Jackson respond, though, if Ciara and Chris Brown performed “Scream” together on-stage?
The “Feedback” singer made headlines back in 2009 when she performed the hit single herself at the MTV Video Music Awards to pay tribute to her late brother.
The sixth anniversary of Michael Jackson’s death occurred last Thursday and Janet Jackson’s comeback tour is now underway. Therefore, Chris Brown teaming up with Ciara to perform “Scream” together on stage could be a beautiful way to pay tribute to both Michael and Janet Jackson.
The network announced that singers Tinashe and Jason Derulo would participate in the Janet Jackson tribute as well.

However, as previously reported by the Inquisitr, that part of the announcement was actually slammed by a lot of people on Twitter.
Some even claimed that it would be disrespectful to Janet Jackson to have Tinashe and Jason Derulo pay tribute to her on the BET Awards stage.

Very little information has been confirmed about what the BET Awards will have in store for viewers this year when it airs Sunday night. A long list of awards will be presented with other singers performing throughout the broadcast.
Chances are, though, that most people will be on the edge of their seats waiting for the Janet Jackson tribute, hoping that Ciara and Chris Brown perform “Scream” and essentially break the internet.
