Another Horrible Terrorist Attack On France

France has suffered yet another Islamist attack on Friday, June 26, six months after some Islamist gunmen killed 17 people at a satirical weekly newspaper and Jewish food store in that country which was described by many as a terrorist attack.

In the recent horrendous attack, 35-year-old Yassinne Salhi of North African background and with Islamist connections is reported to have beheaded his 54-year-old boss, Herve Cornara, and caused an explosion at an American-owned energy factory where they both work by driving his delivery van into a ware house storing gas containers and was later opening canisters containing flammable chemicals before he was captured.

In a recent Inquisitr report, top suspect reportedly took selfie with severed head of victim and sent it to a friend on WhatsApp.

According to Reuters, the decapitated head of the 54-year-old manager was found hanging with Islamic flags that has reference to the Muslim profession of faith according to Francois Molin, Paris Public Prosecutor in a news conference.

The police are saying the body of Cornara also bore signs of strangling/suffocation, suggesting that he may have been murdered at unknown location prior to his decapitation.

The incident took place in the factory, in a small town of Saint-Quentin-Fallavier, about 40 km from Lyon, where the suspect was allowed to drive in at about 9:28 a.m. because his van was allowed to make deliveries.

Reports have it that the suspect’s movement could not be captured on the CCTV cameras until he was seen again at about 9:35 a.m. accelerating towards the warehouse and followed by a very loud explosion. Two people were reported to have been hurt in the explosion.

Yassine Salhi is in police custody in Lyon and has begun speaking to investigators; the wife and sister are also detained to help in investigation.

No Islamist group has yet claimed responsibility for last Friday’s attack, but the Paris Public Prosecutor, Francois Molins, has assured that investigators would put pieces together and establish whether Salhi was acting alone.

According to the French President, François Hallande speaking from Brussel has described the attack as a terrorist attack, and expressed his condolences and solidarity with the victims, including two injured at the scene, and urged the people of France to remain united and “not give in to fear.”

President François Hallande has returned home from his official trip on hearing the news to hold an emergency Cabinet meeting on Tuesday over the attack.

Meanwhile, the French Prime Minister, Manuel Valls, has ordered for security to be tightened on all “sensitive sites” in the region.

Some people believe that current attack would aggravate racial tension and tension for France’s over 5 million Muslims due to the rise in “Islamophobic” attacks in recent months.

Hundreds of people have expressed their shock and condemned the attack, praying the police will do a good job to bring the perpetrators of this heinous crime to book.
