David Crosby Slams Kanye West: ‘He’s A Poser’ Who Can’t Write, Sing, Play, Or Produce

David Crosby is doubling down on comments he made about Kanye West earlier this year. According to the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer, the rapper is nothing more than a poser.

Fans should not expect to see Crosby at a Kanye concert anytime soon.

In an interview with Huff Post Live on Friday, David Crosby blasted the 38-year-old Grammy winner when host Alyona Minkovski asked if the famed musician really meant the comments he made earlier this year about West in which he said the rapper is “an idiot and a poser who has no talent at all.”

“Yes, I said that… I mean it all stands on what you produce, what you actually put down. Kanye West can’t write, sing or play. So I have trouble with him, you know, as anything but a poser.”

When Minkovski tries to point out that Kanye West can at least produce, David Crosby does not think the rapper is capable of doing that either.

“Produce? That means he sits in a chair while the engineer does the work. He’s a poser. I’m not backing off it.”

Crosby’s comments on Friday’s Huff Post Live stem from a March Twitter exchange in which a fan asked the 73-year-old Crosby what he thinks of Kanye West’s talent and the impact the rapper has had on the music industry. Although West has won 21 Grammy awards, according to famed musician, the rapper has no talent at all.

In an interview earlier this week with the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Crosby said there was considerable backlash after his Twitter comments about West in March, but he just does not care, obviously.

“Ah, ho-ho-ho-ho! Lots! [of backlash]. People raging at me on Twitter, and I don’t care. I think the guy’s an idiot! What can I tell you?”

During his interview with Minkovski, Crosby also touched on a more serious subject — Joni Mitchell’s current state of health after suffering from a brain aneurysm in March. The results left his fellow band mate unable to speak, as the Inquisitr previously reported.

“She’s a tough girl and very smart. So how much she’s going to come back and when, I don’t know and I’m not going to guess. I love her. She’s probably the best of us, probably the greatest living singer-songwriter.”

Kanye West, who headlined the 2015 Glastonbury Music Festival in the U.K. this weekend, has not publicly responded to David Crosby’s remarks.
