Prince George To Play Polo? Prince William Chats With Polo Player About Teaching Son The Equine Sport

Prince George will be part of another family tradition when he gets older, if his father has his way. Prince William wants his son to learn how to play polo, which is a royal family sport that everyone often gathers to attend at public functions. It was just a few weeks ago that Duchess Kate was seen running after their busy son as Wills was on the polo field.

The young future king of England made news last week for being left-handed like his father when he was pictured playing with a polo mallet.

Mail Online reports that a few weeks ago, the Duke of Cambridge chatted with polo player Jamie Morrison about teaching his son the equine sport when he’s older. The main problem with that is George will have to do as his father did by using his right hand more when it comes to the game.

Morrison is a good friend of Prince William’s and operates the Royal County of Berkshire Polo Club. Sources say Wills had an “informal” conversation with Morrison about George’s future in polo.

“Obviously George is far too young to be learning polo yet,” a source says. “It won’t be for quite a few years, but George will have to learn to play with his right hand, as you can’t play polo with your left.”

Not long ago, the Inquisitr published an article about his uncle, Prince Harry, reportedly planning to encourage Prince George and Princess Charlotte to join the military. He and William have played significant roles in the British armed forces.

In a People magazine report out in mid-June, it was learned that Kate has her hands full because the third-in-line to the British throne is a “live wire.” This claim was uttered by the photographer who was on-hand for the polo event, Mark Stewart.

A source said the toddler is “running around constantly” and doesn’t give Kate a moment alone to herself.

Stewart said Kate “was running after him and making sure he was interacting with the other children. She wasn’t being precious with him – she wanted him to have a good old rough-and-tumble.”

The report went on to say that the Duchess of Cambridge is breaking traditional rules in raising her son and wants him to have a playful and “messy” childhood. This aligns with the wishes that Princess Diana had for Wills and Harry — and was able to successfully achieve. She helped pave the way for Wills and Kate to do the same for their children.
