‘Teen Beach 2’ Ending Leaves Fans Sad – And Absolutely Confused!

Teen Beach 2 pleased a lot of viewers when it premiered Friday night – but the ending left a lot of people sad and confused.

Thanks to a surprise plot twist, the Teen Beach 2 ending essentially altered the history of the Teen Beach franchise overall.

Quite a few viewers posted their reactions and responses to the surprise ending on Twitter.

Some fans felt that the ending was perfect and a great way to possible set up a third installment of the popular Disney movie franchise.

On the other hand, quite a few people admitted that they were saddened, confused, disturbed and even victimized by the Teen Beach 2 ending.

Hours after the movie’s ending made its official debut, many fans are still having trouble putting the pieces of the plot twist together to make sense.

Some of the stars from Teen Beach 2 have actually come forward to defend the movie’s surprise ending.

For instance, in an interview with TVLine, actor Garrett Clayton (who plays Tanner in the film) admitted that he enjoyed the underlying message that was sent to viewers by the film’s surprising plot twist.

“We didn’t wrap it up in a nice little bow. We’re not a normal movie franchise, and I don’t think we ever have been. I like the message it sends: You make your own choices in life. A lot of people struggle with that, and I love that Grace’s character represents choosing your own path. You might not know where you’re going, but you know you’ll be happy in the end because it’s your decision.”

However, the cast basically gave fans and critics advance notice of the twists and turns in Teen Beach2 during an interview with Entertainment Tonight earlier this week. Actress Grace Phipps (who plays Lela) spilled some of the beans by at least preparing the franchise’s fans for what they should expect from the second installment.

“You can know that you’re going to see the characters do the things that you probably have imagined them doing. But you should know that there is going to be some good twists and turns.”

When asked what viewers should have with them before they decide to watch the Teen Beach sequel, Phipps named the one item that most people need when watching emotional tear-jerking films – tissues.

“I would suggest having [tissues]. I cry at everything so I’m a bad example, but maybe have tissues on hand.”

Whether there will be a follow-up movie that picks up where Teen Beach 2 leaves off has yet to be seen. As of right now, nothing has been confirmed by the Disney channel about any future installments.

There were three films in another hit Disney Channel movie musical franchise, High School Musical. However, that franchise did not feature such a big plot twist in its second film.

Therefore, Teen Beach 2 has apparently crossed into a territory that has not been explored before by the network when it comes to its original movie musical franchises.
