Winning Mega Millions Numbers June 26: $64 Million Jackpot Up For Grabs

According to M Live, no one matched all six numbers in the last drawing on June 23 (6, 13, 38, 56, 70, MB 2), so the jackpot increased from $52 million to $64 million for tonight’s drawing.

The June 26 Mega Millions drawing will be the seventh one since a lucky ticket holder from Illinois won $260 million on June 2. According to the Chicago Tribune, the ticket was purchased at the Super Mercado Imelda supermarket in the Blue Island area of Chicago.
Although the jackpot winner has not come forward to claim the prize, the retail store that sold the winning ticket will get a $500,000 bonus from the lottery. Delores Diaz, who manages the market in Blue Island tells CBS Chicago “it’s fantastic that we won” and she would use the money to pay off bills.
The cash value of tonight’s $64 million jackpot is $38 million. If a single ticket holder matches all six numbers, they can choose between a one-time lump sum payment or a 30-year annuity. According to USA Mega, the Mega Millions jackpot winner would receive a check for $26.6 million after federal taxes, but before states taxes are deducted.
If the winner chooses an annuity instead of a single payment, the annual payout would be approximately $1.6 million per year after federal taxes, with the first check issued shortly after the winning ticket is verified by lottery officials. If state taxes apply for lottery winnings, that amount would be deducted from the payment. According to the Mega Millions website, there is a five percent increase added every year to “help protect winners’ lifestyle and purchasing power.”
