Caitlyn Jenner Says ‘People Don’t Understand’ In Emotional ‘I Am Cait’ Promo [Video]

Caitlyn Jenner’s public transformation continues in July with the debut of her series I Am Cait on E!. The network released a new preview clip of the forthcoming quasi-documentary, featuring an emotional narrative from the planet’s most famous transgender person.

“People don’t understand looking into the mirror and nothing seems right,” Jenner says in the clip as her voice wavers with emotion. “Putting on clothes that you just don’t identify with. This is about getting to be who you really are.”

The video montage features footage of Caitlyn decked out in some glamorous new attire as she narrates her decision to share her story with the world. It’s more than just history at this point, as Jenner explains the forward-looking goals of I Am Cait.

“We’re going to talk about everything. We’re going to do a lot of fun things for the first time. We’re going to go shopping for the first time. Maybe even some boy stuff, like ride a motorcycle… because girls do that too. It’s going to be quite a journey. We’re going to do some good,” she says.

According to E! Online, Caitlyn Jenner now appears to have some degree of support from estranged wife Kris Jenner, who spoke on Jenner’s Vanity Fair cover while at a party in Cannes, earlier this week. She reportedly described Annie Leibovitz’s photos of Caitlyn as “beautiful.”

“I think that someone following their dream is truly inspirational to a lot of people. You have to do what makes you happy,” Kris Jenner said.

E! Online noted that Kris Jenner was accompanied at the above-noted event by her new boyfriend, Corey Gamble. The site reported that the pair “could barely keep their hands off each other.”

Variety notes that the new clip has hit the web on a landmark day for the LGBT community in light of the Supreme Court’s decision on marriage equality.

Jenner has pledged to make a difference in the lives those who struggle with personal matters such as gender identity, sexuality, and social acceptance. Indeed, she made good on that promise when she made her first personal appearance at an LGBT youth center in Los Angeles to discuss her transition. While Caitlyn Jenner will undoubtedly reap a tremendous financial benefit from forthcoming endeavors like I Am Cait, she appears ready and willing to use her broad and far-reaching platform to inform, entertain, and inspire others on a grand scale.
