WWE News: WWE Superstar Dolph Ziggler Re-Signs With WWE

WWE Superstar Dolph Ziggler has been at the center of some extreme speculation over the last week.

His contract was close to expiring and word had it that he had not bothered to re-sign with WWE. He was said to have been unhappy with his place and wanted to have something better to do if he were to stay. Other companies had extreme interest. It was said that Ziggler could go to New Japan Pro-Wrestling, Lucha Underground Ring of Honor, and even TNA as all four had interest in him.

There was a thought that if he worked the Indy scene and didn’t have any major contractual ties, he could have a lighter schedule than he does in WWE and be able to earn around $300,00 to $400,000 a year due to the price he’d ask for performances. People like AJ Styles and others have made a very good living on the Indy scene, so it made sense to many to see Ziggler at least try his hand at this world.

However, WWE didn’t want Dolph Ziggler getting away to help anyone else. According to PWInsider, Ziggler has re-signed with WWE. He is said to have signed a multi-year deal with them that may include some added benefits. What those are however, is not yet known if any at all.

Ziggler and WWE apparently agreed to terms on a new deal a few weeks back. The reason many didn’t hear about it is due to the fact that WWE likes to keep things quiet and nothing was technically official at the time. Now we have the confirmation of him signing, which is a big thing for WWE. Dolph Ziggler has a big fan base and would be a big get for any promotion he wrestled for.

Many were under the assumption that Dolph was considering TNA greatly as the company did offer him a chance to come in and be a top star there. However, many close to Ziggler tried to convince him it wasn’t worth it as no one knew the future of the company.

At the end of the day, it made sense to stay with WWE. Dolph Ziggler is in his mid-30’s and WWE is ahead of the curve in almost every way. He is still featured on as many TV shows as possible and a huge part of the WWE roster. At his age, he does have a lot left but he won’t get much more opportunities to make a good living. WWE offers him a security blanket Indy companies won’t. WWE makes sense in every way for him, so it’s not a surprise he decided to stay.
