Courtney Love Has Terrifying Ride In Paris, Held Hostage In Uber

Courtney Love landed in Paris, and it wasn’t exactly the welcome she was hoping for. Love found herself in the middle of a taxi strike between cab drivers and local Uber employees.

Love posted about her terrifying hostage situation on her Instagram. She captioned the photo with, “Scariest day of my life, ambushed at the airport in Paris by taxi drivers on strike against @uber got taken hostage and our car was destroyed.”

The singer posted the photo of her Uber car, which was pelted with eggs and tires slashed. She documented the damage in an additional video. The caption said, “How on earth are these people allowed to do this? the first car was destroyed, all tires slashed and beat with bats, these guys trying to open the doors and the cops are doing nothing?? French Taliban? civil reform needed in France?? I want to go home.”

The taxi strike was so bad that Courtney decided to let others see the footage of cab drivers and Uber drivers screaming and fighting outside of her Uber ride. Despite the fact that it took a long time to get to her destination, Love safely arrived on the back of a motorcycle.

She captioned a picture of herself on the bike with, “We got out after being held hostage for an hour thanks to these two guys. I’m scared out of my wits. Mr. François Hollande president or libertine? I can’t believe this really just happened. love French people but your government blows #happytobealive #parisuberstrike wtf??”

Courtney Love was actually one of the lucky ones. There have been countless women who have experienced terribly frightening rides by their Uber drivers. It didn’t take a strike for these women to feel trapped inside of their Uber cars. The latest example of one woman’s horrible Uber ride happened in May.

Driver Saeed Omar became violent inside the Uber and wouldn’t let passenger Jacqueline Cardona out of the car. She said of the driver, who could face jail time for simple assault, “in a split second, he just went completely nuts. I mean, we’ve all had drivers that are maybe having a bad day. Maybe you want to tell them how to drive, but this was beyond that. This was rage coming out of this man.”

According to Cardona thoughts were racing, “I’m being kidnapped. This went from really bad to worst case scenario. That’s what I’m thinking, I’m being kidnapped.”
