Cheryl Burke Says Caitlyn Jenner Would Be An ‘Amazing’ Miss USA Judge And ‘DWTS’ Contestant

Caitlyn Jenner would make an “amazing” judge for the upcoming Miss USA pageant, according to Cheryl Burke. The invitation was extended to Caitlyn, but she has not yet been confirmed as a judge. Burke thinks she is an “empowering” figure who would fit perfectly with what the pageant stands for.

“I think Caitlyn Jenner would be an amazing judge. I think she’s so empowering. A lot of people look up to her.”

The Dancing with the Stars pro explained to ET Online that she has experienced body shaming and bullying, so body image is an issue close to her heart. She said true beauty comes from within, and that people have to embrace who they truly are.

“Because I have been bullied and attacked about my body, body image has always been an issue for me. You don’t have to be a size zero to be beautiful. You have to embrace your body, whether it’s curvy or whatever you may be. You have to embrace who you are. Beauty comes from the inside not out.”

The Miss USA judging panel isn’t the only thing Burke thinks Caitlyn is a perfect fit for. She says the 65-year-old would be an excellent choice to compete on Dancing with the Stars. She said Jenner might as well since so many other family members have already been on the show. Cheryl suggests Caitlyn would make a great partner for Tony Dovolani or Val Chmerkovskiy.

“I think Caitlyn would be amazing on DWTS. The whole family has basically done it. I danced with Rob. Kim did it a few season ago. Caitlyn and Tony Dovolani would look great together, or actually Caitlyn and Val [Chmerkovskiy].”

Caitlyn Jenner revealed in her Vanity Fair magazine interview that she chose her new name while watching the Miss America pageant. She tried out some of the contestants’ names until she found the one that stuck.

“It’s one of the hardest things in life — choosing your own name.”

The Miss USA organization told USA Today earlier this month that they would love to have her and confirmed that they did reach out to her with the invitation.

“While she is not yet confirmed to judge, the organization would indeed love to have her and are reaching out to make an offer.”

The statement went on to point out that the Miss USA organization is the only pageant as of 2011 that allows transgender contestants.

Rob Kardashian, Jenner’s stepson, served as “Twitter judge” for the 2011 Miss USA pageant. At one point, he received a question for contestant (and winner) Olivia Culpo, asking if it is fair for a transgender woman to win over a naturally born woman. Culpo’s response was yes, it would be fair, adding, “it’s a free country.”

Do you agree with Cheryl Burke? Would you like to see Caitlyn Jenner judge the Miss USA pageant or compete on Dancing with the Stars?
