Rumer Willis Sidelined From ‘Dancing With The Stars’ Live Tour With Injured Foot

Rumer Willis didn’t plan on hanging up her dancing shoes anytime soon, but she is being forced to, at least for now.

The mirror ball trophy winner revealed Wednesday she has suffered stress fractures in her right foot, causing her to sit out of the Dancing With The Stars: Live! Tour.

“I have to hang up my dancing shoes for a little bit because of a few stress fractures in my foot but it’s not gonna stop me from singing for you guys on the #DWTSlivetour”

Just a few days ago, she posted about what an “amazing time” she was having on the tour, which she so excited to be on.

“I have had such an amazing time on the #DWTSlivetour so far…I am so grateful to be able to keep dancing not only for myself but for all of you guys. Feel so lucky to be sharing the stage with such incredible people and a huge thank you to @iamvalc for continuing to help me grow as a dancer everyday.”

A tour spokesperson told Yahoo Celebrity, while they don’t know when Rumer will be able to return to dancing, she will remain on the road with the tour and sing as planned.

“She has been diagnosed with a stress fractures and is currently resting. While it remains unclear at this time if Rumer will be able to dance for the remainder of the tour, she is still having fun with her dancing family and will continue to be on the road with the tour. She is hanging up her dancing shoes (for now), but Rumer is still a huge part of the tour and will be singing in various numbers throughout the 90 minute show.”

Rumer has been dancing with the tour since June 13, along with her DWTS partner Val Chmerkovskiy. In a press release announcing she would be joining the tour, Willis said, “I fell in love with dancing, and after winning the show I just didn’t want to stop.” She went on to share how excited she was to dance for her supportive fans live on the tour.

“Val and I were lucky enough to have incredible fans that supported us throughout the entire show, and they are the reason we won. I can’t wait to meet the fans and perform for them live.”

Rumer’s Dancing With the Stars journey had such an impact on her life that she got a permanent reminder of it. Earlier this month, she got a stunning new tattoo of a couple dancing. She proudly posted a picture of it on Instagram with a moving message about what Dancing taught her about loving herself.

“I got this as a reminder that what we are searching for can only be found within yourself….not from your job, how much money you make, who your dating, how many followers you have. The value and love you have for yourself can only come from within and I am so grateful to have had such an incredible experience to help me understand that.”

Rumer Will has been very open about how she was bullied as a young girl (and continues to be even after winning the mirror ball), and how Dancing With The Stars helped her feel beautiful and confident again.
