Texas Vet Kristen Lindsey Who Killed Cat With Bow And Arrow Will Not Be Charged With A Crime [Caution: Graphic Image]
Texas veterinarian Kristen Lindsey posted a picture on Facebook of her holding a cat with an arrow through its head. The photo went viral and she lost her job as animal advocates around the globe showed their wrath through social media posts. But this vet will not face criminal charges even after bragging about killing a cat with a bow and arrow. An Austin County Grand Jury declined to indict Lindsey. The grand jury returned a “no bill” decision, meaning that there was insufficient evidence and no criminal charges will be pressed against Lindsey. Lindsey indicated that the cat she killed was feral. However, the cat is believed to be Tiger, an orange tabby that went missing around the same time that Lindsay killed the tabbb. Amy Hemsell was Tiger’s Pet sitter for three years and stated the following according to Station KBTX.
“He loved everybody, he loved everything. He always greeted me, he was my protector out on the farm. We were in disbelief you know we weren’t sure what more evidence that they needed.”
Hemsell, as well as others,are shocked that Lindsey wasn’t charged with a crime. According to a press release, the Austin County District Attorney’s Office states that there was not enough evidence to prove that the cat was killed in a cruel manner, where and when it was killed, or to even confirm the identity of the cat. But many animal advocates are fed up with the growing number of abuse cases. Gisele Flanigan, a True Blue Animal Rescue Volunteer, summarized the thoughts of some others by stating the following, as reported by Station KBTX.
“The movement on animal abuse is growing and it can’t be denied and so with Tiger’s death it has brought much awareness, much needed awareness.”
The press release states that the Brenham Police Department referred the case to the Austin County Sheriff’s Office based on hearsay. Investigators were unable to confirm allegations that the cat may have been rabid. In such a case, people are allowed to protect their own pets from an attack from another animal. Lindsey though seemed to be bragging about killing the cat in her Facebook post. She stated the following, according to the Examiner.
“My first bow kill lol. The only good feral tomcat is one with an arrow through it’s [sic] head. Vet of the year award gladly accepted.”
