‘The Watcher’ Warns Family ‘Bring Me Young Blood’

For many couples, buying a home together is a reason for celebration, but for one family in Westfield, New Jersey, closing on their dream home has become a nightmare. Only three days after the Westfield couple closed on their new home, an individual going by the name of “The Watcher” has been stalking the new homeowners.

The Watcher asserts in letters to the couple, who have three children, that the property has been under the care of his family for generations.

“My grandfather watched the house in the 1920s and my father watched in the 1960s. It is my time,” one letter from The Watcher reads. “I asked the [previous owners] to bring me young blood.”

“Once I know their names I will call to them and draw them to me,” another letter from The Watcher read. “And now I watch and wait for the day when they (sp) young blood will be mine again.’S”

Letters from The Watcher grew more threatening, implying that the individual has taken his nickname literally. The Watcher seems to know much about the family and had apparently been keeping a special eye on the couple’s children.

“Have they found what is in the walls yet? In time they will. I am pleased to know your names and the names now of the young blood you have brought to me.”

That same letter grew even more menacing as it continued.

“Will the young bloods play in the basement. Who has the rooms facing the street? I’ll know as soon as you move in. It will help me to know who is in which bedroom then I can plan better.”

The letters from The Watcher unsettled the family so much that they had never spent a single night on the property, instead placing it back on the market.

The couple has also filed a lawsuit against the previous owners in Union County Superior Court. The complaint asserts that the previous owners purposely concealed all information regarding The Watcher and “knowingly elected to pursue” the sale of the $1.36 million home.

Also listed on the complaint as co-defendants are the Chicago Title Insurance Company and The Watcher himself.

Officials confirm that the Westfield Police Department has taken custody of the letters and are currently investigating The Watcher.

“Our police have conducted an exhaustive investigation into the threatening letters,” Westfield Mayor Andrew Skibitsky said during a town council meeting. “Our police went the extra measure and left no stone unturned.”
