Mega Millions Winning Numbers June 23: Jackpot Rises To $64 Million

The Mega Millions jackpot now stands at $64 million, with no grand prize winner in the June 23 drawing. Although there were over one million ticket holders who won non-jackpot prizes on Tuesday night, no one matched all six numbers and the Mega Ball — 6, 13, 38, 56, 70 MB 2.

The next drawing takes place on Friday, June 26, at 11 p.m. ET. Watch the drawing live on your iPhone or Android device by downloading the free LotteryHub app. Tickets cost $1 each and can be purchased at lottery retailers in 43 states, the District of Columbia, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Mega Millions tickets can be purchased up to 15 minutes prior the drawings that take place every Tuesday and Thursday, although some lottery retailers have earlier cutoff times.

If you don’t win the jackpot, you could become $1 million richer by matching five numbers, but not the Mega Ball. Lottery players can double the value of their non-jackpot prizes by paying an extra $1 for the Megaplier feature. According to the official Mega Millions website, the Megaplier increases the amount of non-jackpot prizes by two, three, or four times, depending on the Megaplier number that is drawn.

The Mega Millions jackpot will continue to rise until someone hits the jackpot. There hasn’t been a grand prize winner since the June 2 drawing — one lucky ticket holder in Illinois won $260 million. According to the Chicago Tribune, the ticket was purchased at the Super Mercado Imelda supermarket in the Blue Island area of Chicago. The winner has not come forward to claim the prize.

The $64 million jackpot that is up for grabs on Friday night would be an amazing windfall for anyone lucky enough to match all six numbers. It’s not the smallest jackpot in Mega Millions history, but it’s a long way from the biggest grand prize in the popular lottery game.

The biggest Mega Millions jackpot given away (so far) was a whopping $656 million prize ($471 million cash value) in the March 30, 2012, drawing. Three winners in Maryland, Illinois, and Kansas split the winnings, each taking home one-third of the jackpot before taxes. In December, 2013, two ticket holders cashed in on the second-highest jackpot in Mega Millions history — a cool $648 million ($347.6 cash value) was split between two players from Georgia and California.

Of the top ten biggest Mega Millions jackpots, seven were won by multiple people, and three given away to a single ticket holder.
