WWE News: WWE Superstar Brock Lesnar Did Not Want To Break The Undertaker’s WrestleMania Streak

At WrestleMania 30, the wrestling world was shocked when The Undertaker lost to Brock Lesnar.

For over twenty years, there were three constants in every WWE fan’s life. Death, Taxes, and The Streak. You knew every single year that a challenger would step up and come after WWE’s Phenom to end his WrestleMania win streak. Legends and Hall of Famers tried and all failed. The likes of Shawn Michaels, Triple H, Randy Orton, Edge, and Batista all went down to the Deadman. Many wondered who could drop Taker on the grandest stage of them all.

Then, “he” came along. The one man who held the key to hell, and was willing to fight The Undertaker all the way down and lock him in for the first time. The Beast Incarnate Brock Lesnar took down Taker. The audience was shocked as well as all of us watching at home. You could hear a pin drop in New Orleans and in every home watching. No one saw The Undertaker losing.

Yet he did.

Many assumed it was the last WrestleMania for Taker, and it appeared to be after news came out that Undertaker was hospitalized over injuries sustained in the match with Lesnar. However, it was not his last as Taker actually competed at WrestleMania 31 and won in his match with Bray Wyatt.

At the end of the day, the streak ending almost did not happen. Brock Lesnar didn’t want to end “the streak.”

A correspondent for WrestlingInc was at “An Evening With Shawn Michaels” where Jim Ross seemed to have hosted. The two spoke about The Streak ending and had this to say….

“The Undertaker’s undefeated WrestleMania streak ending is discussed, and Michaels admits that he wasn’t a fan of the decision, and neither was JR. JR talked about Brock Lesnar not wanting to beat the streak and asking to lose the match, but the decision had been made. Shawn talks about how he was suppose to be part of a team of former champions who went out to the ring to celebrate with Daniel Bryan over his title win at WrestleMania XXX, but HBK refused after the way the crowd reacted after Brock’s victory, so he left the Superdome early.”

Brock Lesnar did benefit from the win greatly. Right now he is considered a monster and almost unbeatable, which really all started with his win over The Undertaker. Many felt that if there was anyone that was right to end the streak, it was Lesnar. He is potentially the most legit man to ever perform in WWE. That meant that if anyone in WWE was worthy enough to get the win, it was him.

Brock Lesnar has proven that he was the best for the job since, which is good to see. However, it is also great to see that he respected The Undertaker and his streak so much so that he didn’t want to end it. Randy Orton was also a potential winner, but he asked to not win as well. Since then, everyone has wondered who was going to be the guy if anyone. Lesnar got the win, but the best thing is that he did a lot with it and The Undertaker being beaten made an impact on a career. This what we all wanted, so it worked out in the end for WWE and the fans.
