Why ‘Sons Of Anarchy’ Star Charlie Hunnam Deserves An Emmy Nomination For His Final Season As Jax Teller [Video]

With the deadline for the 2015 Emmy Awards nomination voting right around corner, fans now have a mixture of excitement and dread as they root for their favorite TV show actors. With the list of nominees for Lead Actor in a Drama series so competitive this year — Charlie Hunnam from Sons of Anarchy, Sam Heughan of Outlander, Jon Hamm for the final season of Mad Men — many are wondering if their favorite actor will be one of the few selected for the highly-anticipated award ceremony.

With that in mind, many fans are pushing for Charlie Hunnam to receive a nomination in the Lead Actor in a Drama series category for his work as Jax Teller on Sons of Anarchy. Hunnam managed to pull off quite the final season as Jax on the biker drama, in a role that is deserving of critical praise for several reasons.

First of all, Hunnam’s character went through quite the range of emotions throughout the last season of the show. Jax faced some pretty horrific things in the final season, from dealing with his wife’s murder to seeking revenge against the Chinese to learning that his own mother was actually behind the murder of his wife. Despite all of the ups and downs, Hunnam did an excellent job in portraying the full range of emotions in his character, which really shows the depth of his talent.

Secondly, the show itself was a huge success throughout its seven seasons on FX, and the final season was no exception. The last season of Sons of Anarchy was met with success as the series wrapped up its main storyline with Jax, which also happened to include a very big uptake in violence, as Jax went on his quest for revenge. In fact, according to TV Line, the final season featured over 60 deaths! The mere fact that Sons of Anarchy proved to have another successful run should go in Hunnam’s favor when the nominations for lead actor are selected.

Lastly, this is the final chance for Hunnam to receive the award for Lead Actor in a Drama Series. Sons of Anarchy wrapped up its seventh and final season back in December, and this is the perfect opportunity to finally give Hunnam the nomination that he deserves.

Considering all the emotion Hunnam had to pour into his role in the final season of the show, and given the show’s success over the years, there are plenty of reasons why Hunnam should get a nomination for best lead actor in a drama series.
