Mariah Carey Fans Slam Her Billionaire Beau James Packer: Tearfully Implore The Ageing Diva Not To Marry For Money
When sultry songbird Mariah Carey went public with her romantic involvement with Australian billionaire James Packer, it turned a fair few heads and one or two stomachs, but with the latest news that wedding bells may be on the horizon for the two lovebirds, Carey fans have reacted with a surprising savagery.
Hordes of Mariah Carey fans were reduced to tears by their elegant idol’s sudden liaison with Packer, who for all his money has something of the retired amateur pugilist about his person, but when the bombshell hit that the two lovebirds are already talking marriage, Carey fans went ballistic.
Packer, is Australia’s fourth richest man with an estimated $4.7 billon to his name. The media mogul is also a former Scientologist and has a bit of previous experience when it comes to dating famous women.
Packer also boasts that he’s Carey’s biggest fan and brags about cruising along on his luxury yacht, the Arctic P, while the 45-year-old vocal powerhouse’s songs blast out at ear-splitting volume. Which can’t be nice for the poor dolphins and their delicate hearing.
A perseverant Packer allegedly pursued the cautious Carey for weeks after becoming smitten way back when with the high octave warbler.
Eventually, instead of dragging a captive Carey back to his cave, Packer whisked the diminutive diva to the island of Capri, where sources claim the couple enjoyed the fruits of a whirlwind romance and are reportedly already discussing marriage.
Needless to say, this has not gone down at all well with Carey’s legion of obsessive fans, many of whom ignited on Instagram and vented their disgust at Mariah’s choice of billionaire beau.
Below a photo of a happy looking Packer and Carey, many of Mariah’s 2.1 million plus followers reacted angrily to any ideas of marriage. With one calling Carey far too beautiful for the likes of Packer.
“You’re too beautiful and elegant to be with James packer!!!! Please don’t!”
A few accused Packer of bullying and manipulating Carey.
“I don’t think I like him and his exploitive behaviour. I don’t think she does either. It’s something in her smile.”
Others believed that Mariah’s former husband Nick Cannon would spoil any threatened promise of a big day between Carey and Packer.
“Somehow I think Nick will prevail. Just watch…stay tuned.”
Some however found reason to be optimistic in the face of Packer’s rough and ready appearance.
“Is that Mariah Carey’s boyfriend in black? Wow, there is hope for me then.”
Another seemed to capture the shared sentiment of Carey’s fan base when it came to the plucky singer’s involvement with Packer by repeatedly asking Mariah why?
“Oh Mariah, why, why, why???”
