‘The Walking Dead’ Spoilers Reveal New Faces And Impending Deaths

Warning: This article contains spoilers for The Walking Dead.

As the premiere of The Walking Dead‘s sixth season draws ever closer, new casting changes paint a clearer picture for TWD fans, revealing what can be expected when The Walking Dead does air its season debut. There have been new additions to The Walking Dead cast that come straight from the comic book series and one of those additions will feature a character who appears much earlier in The Walking Dead comic book series.

An Alexandria Safe Zone runner named Heath (played by Corey Hawkins) will join The Walking Dead. In the original books, a bond forms between Heath and Dr. Denise Cloyd, who also appears much earlier in The Walking Dead source material.

This announcement has increased speculation around the enigmatic casting call for “a female psychologist.” There seems to be some debate among fans of The Walking Dead as to whether that role will be for a revised version of the Denise Cloyd character or whether the call is to fill the role of another new Walking Dead character, Allison. Traditionally, the character of Allison is that of a doctor who ends up saving Carl’s life. Allison is also known for her attachment to the safety of Alexandria as opposed to leaving the city, but she may prove herself as circumstances force her to become more of a fighter.

The Walking Dead creative team has released even more casting calls in recent weeks. The first call is requesting “male Caucasian, between 35 and 55 years old, six feet or taller, and is overall the clean-cut military type” for an unspecified role. Secondly, The Walking Dead team is looking to fill roles for two new characters, a married couple named Kirk and Hilda.

The casting call for Kirk describes him as “a young, blue collar everyman from a small town, who worked a job, was married, and followed the golden rule. Until recently, he’s avoided being cynical and bottomline-minded—but the world seems to keep telling him to look out for number one and eliminate anyone in his way.”

Hilda was described as being a strong, fiercely independent woman with a commanding presence.

Making room for these new characters, The Walking Dead writers have already plotted the deaths of some TWD fan favorites. Although unconfirmed, it seems that Glenn (Steven Yeun) will meet his demise in season six, unless The Walking Dead team decides to deviate from the comic books.

There has been a great deal of supposition regarding the death of Eugene (Josh McDermitt) and, adding credence to the speculation, sources report that McDermitt has already immersed himself in a new project. IMDb lists McDermitt in the Robert Sparks thriller Odious, which has already begun filming.

Finally, there’s Carl (Chandler Riggs), whose fate seems to be up in the air at the moment. In The Walking Dead comic books, Carl takes a shot in the eye, but Dr. Allison is available to save him, which leads back to the question of that casting call mentioned earlier. If Dr. Allison doesn’t make her debut in season six, Carl’s days may be numbered.

The Walking Dead is scheduled to premiere in October on AMC.
