Nick Viall Defends ‘Bachelorette’ Hook-Up With Kaitlyn Bristowe, But It May Drive Away Fan-Favorite Shawn Booth [Spoilers]
Nick Viall is defending his Bachelorette hook-up with Kaitlyn Bristowe, saying he doesn’t regret having sex with the contestant and asking fans not to judge him.
But the controversial tryst may have a big impact on the show, driving away fan-favorite Shawn Booth.

The hook-up aired on this week’s episode of The Bachelorette, which has led to almost immediate controversy. The episode showed Viall and Bristowe sharing an intimate night after a one-on-one date in Dublin, Ireland. The two flirted during dinner, and late went back to their hotel room to have sex.
Even though many fans have spoken out against the hook-up, believing that the two may have gone too far or that Bristowe wasn’t being fair to the other men still in the running to win the final rose, both Nick and Kaitlyn have gone online to defend themselves.
Shortly after the episode Nick Viall took to Twitter to defend the Bachelorette hook-up.

Viall later expanded on his thoughts on Instagram, defending Kaitlyn and saying others shouldn’t judge her decisions.
“Not sure why we still have double standards about sex when it comes to men and women,” he added via Instagram. “Dating can be tough to navigate especially in unique situations. The fact that Kaitlyn acknowledges that there are others involved in this situation that could be affected by her decision shows she respects the emotional connection men can have to sex.”
There could still be more fallout from the Bachelorette hookup. Shawn Booth, a favorite among fans, seemed upset after the incident and may be backing out of the running. Bristowe said at the end of the episode that he may already know about her hook-up with Nick Viall.
The show left it up in the air whether Booth’s displeasure over the hook-up will cause him to leave the show, but spoilers from a show insider indicate that’s not the case. Blogger Reality Steve, who has correctly predicted the ending of all but one season of the Bachelor and Bachelorette shows, had originally said that Kaitlyn Bristowe turned away both Nick and Booth at the final rose ceremony, deciding not to get engaged.
But a Snapchat video accidentally posted by Kaitlyn Bristowe last week showed her in bed with Shawn Booth, indicating that he is indeed the show’s winner and that Kaitlyn’s Bachelorette hookup with Nick Viall didn’t amount to very much.
