‘Dragon Ball Z: Extreme Butoden’ U.S. Release Confirmed

Dragon Ball Z will be heading to Nintendo 3DS in the United States on October 20. The announcement came today after Bandai Namco, a video game publisher, said that Dragon Ball Z will be released in Europe, Middle-East and Australasia on October 16. Originally, the game was only released to 3DS players in Japan, and fans feared it would be a Japan exclusive game.

The new Dragon Ball Z game now has 20 playable characters, amazing features, and more than 100 support characters, according to IGN. Fans will have the opportunity to play as some of their favorite characters including Goku, Vegeta and Piccolo. Support characters include Tien, Recoome, Korin, Turtle, Super Uub, Mercenary Tao, Hercule, and The Great Saiyaman.

Herve Hoerdt, vice president of Marketing and Digital at Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe, told IGN,

“Bandai Namco is listening to fans and will keep on surprising them over the next few years. In the meantime, everybody will enjoy a high-quality fighting game based on one of the most emblematic Anime and Manga ever created!”

Dragon Ball Z: Extreme Butoden was developed by Arc Systems Works, who is well known for their fighting games. The game features a single player mode, which players will have to play through in order to unlock all characters. Dragon Ball Z: Extreme Butoden will be a 2-D style fighting game.

No demo for Dragon Ball Z has been announced or released yet in the United States, but with a demo available in Japan, it is only a matter of time before it hits the Nintendo 3DS in America.

Fans of Dragon Ball Z took to Twitter to express their excitement for the western release of Dragon Ball Z: Extreme Butoden.
