Watch live online as England and New Zealand wrap up a memorable cricket series that began more than a month ago with England’s victory in the first of two Test matches, and continued through a five-match One-Day series that seized the attention of the cricket world with its record-setting outburst of run scoring.
On Tuesday, the England and New Zealand teams will put the final cherry on top of their historic feast of exiting cricket with a single T20 match at Old Trafford in Manchester, England — a match that promises even more fast-paced, explosive action.
To find out how to watch the only New Zealand vs. England T20 match live online, see the information at the bottom of this article. First ball in the 20-overs-per-innings match is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. at Old Trafford — iconic home of the Barclays Premier League’s Manchester United Football Club. That’s 1:30 p.m. United States Eastern Time, 10:30 a.m. Pacific.
While England’s record in recent T20 International matches leaves a lot to be desired, winning just three of their last 12, the limited overs team now known as “New England” under rookie Captain Eoin Morgan, plans to continue the aggressive approach it showed in winning the Royal London London One day series of 50-over matches against New Zealand, 3-2.
That series saw the two sides combine for an astonishing 3,151 runs — the most ever in a five-match series — with a combined run rate of 7.15 and an eye-popping 76 sixes slammed throughout the five games.
“We want to take this team further forward. Hopefully it has generated a bit of interest around the country and got people behind the England cricket team going into the Ashes,” said England’s Sam Billings one of the eight players on the one-day England side who probably will not be picked for the Ashes squad. “Hopefully the vibe around the team can be taken forward into the Ashes and the one-day series against Australia.”
Billings’ upbeat attitude seems to reflect the feelings of the whole “New England” side — a welcome change from the traditionally stodgy approach that until the past month, caused a cloud of gloom to hang over England cricket.
