Alec Baldwin is a great actor and comedian. First gaining international recognition for his role as Joshua Rush in seasons six and seven of Knots Landing in 2003, he has won numerous acting accolades since, which include two Emmy Awards and three Golden Globe Awards.
This year, Alec Baldwin was chosen to host the 2015 Fragrance Foundation Awards ceremony, which was held in New York City.
However, Alec Baldwin surprised guests by talking about a deal to sell Taylor Swift’s Pee.
Going back to one of Alec Baldwin’s most recent controversies, he in 2013 declared that he would never ever tweet again after posting a tirade of expletives against a journalist.
However, that was Alec Baldwin’s third declaration in two years, after deleting his Twitter account numerous times within this period.
This is what Alec Baldwin told Vanity Fair about the decision.
“I went to Jimmy Gandolfini’s funeral, and when I was there I realized Jimmy Gandolfini didn’t have Twitter…Jimmy Gandolfini was so beloved as a person, and he was so admired as an actor, and he didn’t give a f*** about social media.”
Alec Baldwin said he realized social media was just a waste of time.
“It’s just another chink in your armor for people to come and kill you… I stopped and said to myself, I’m going to try where I just don’t do this anymore.”
Alec Baldwin was inflamed by George Stark’s story about Hilaria, his wife, which seemed to accuse her of being insensitive by tweeting upbeat posts during Jimmy’s memorial service.
“The pregnant yoga instructor’s social media feed was full of upbeat posts while the Sopranos star’s friends, family and co-stars were gripped with grief at a New York Catholic church… Messages included a request for ideas about wedding anniversary presents and promotional notes about her upcoming appearance on the Rachael Ray show.”
Alec Baldwin later apologized for calling the reporter a “lying little b****” and a “toxic little queen”.
Moving on to Alec Baldwin’s hosting gig at the Fragrance Foundation Awards, which included guests such as Kendall Jenner and Naomi Campbell, he made a very peculiar joke as he was handing out awards.
“Oh my God, I’m so excited! I just made a deal backstage to sell Taylor Swift’s pee as a fragrance.”
This is according to Hollywood Life.
That said, Taylor has been at the receiving end of some really awkward comments and moments by fellow stars in recent years.
In 2009, Kanye West jumped on stage at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards after she was given the Best Female Video award and complained that Beyoncé’s video was one of the best of all time.
On her comment about how she felt about the interruption, Taylor said the following, according to Time.
“I was standing onstage, and I was really excited because I’d just won the award, and then I was really excited because Kanye West was onstage… And then I wasn’t excited anymore after that.”
The redeeming element about Alec Baldwin’s case is that she was not in the hall during his comment.
