Cricket fans can watch live online as India attempts to avoid a historic and humiliating defeat to Bangladesh in their second ODI match Sunday — a defeat that would give the upstart Bangladesh side its first series win over India, after the Tigers shocked the tourists from India by 79 runs in the first ODI of their three-match One Day International cricket series last week.
To find out how to watch the Bangladesh vs, India Second ODI cricket match live online, see the information at the bottom of this article. Streaming video starts at 3 p.m. local time on Sunday, June 21, at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka, the capital city of Bangladesh.
That’s 5 a.m. United States Eastern Time, 2 a.m. Pacific.
Thursday’s stunning victory by Bangladesh in the First ODI marked only the fourth time in 30 attempts that the Tigers defeated their cricket powerhouse neighbors in a one-day match. But it was also the ninth straight home ODI victory for Bangladesh, and sixth of their last eight overall in 50-overs matches, going back to the Cricket World Cup tournament in March.
Bangladesh was coming off an equally stunning three-match sweep — or “Banglawash” — of Pakistan in their ODI series in April.
Not only did Bangladesh beat India on Thursday, the Tigers bowled the visitors out at 228 after setting a target of 308. And they did it behind the five wickets taken by a 19-year-old debutante, left-arm paceman Mustafizur Rahman.
But that wasn’t the final insult to India, who will come into Sunday’s match desperate to avoid further embarrassment. After the match, India Captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni was slapped with a fine equivalent to 75 percent of his match fee, for an incident in which he threw an elbow at Mustafizur when the two collided on the pitch as Dhoni was running out a single.
Mustafizur was fined 50 percent of his match payment — a penalty that will hit the youngster much harder than Dhoni’s fine will hurt the 33-year-old India skipper, who with a reported net worth of $50 million is the world’s richest active cricketer.
