Finale For K-Drama ‘Producer’ Is Closely Guarded – KBS Preventing Spoilers Of Romantic Endings

After a month airing on the Korean Broadcasting Network (KBS) on KBS2, Producer will air its finale, starting with the 11th episode later today. The final episode will then air the next day, bringing the popular K-drama to a close. Nevertheless, fans – especially those of Kim Soo Hyun – are hyped. This is proven when the 10th episode accumulated the highest average rating out of all the episodes in Producer thus far.

Given this fact, it is believed the final two Producer episodes will be even higher, surpassing the 10th episode. Therefore, KBS has kept the K-drama’s finale closely guarded. This is to prevent spoilers of the show, especially the romantic endings.

According to an announcement published by Ilgan Sports, the final episodes of Producer will be filmed on a delayed schedule. This means the 11th and 12th (final) episodes are set to be filmed quite close to June 19, 2015, which so happens to be the air date for the 11th episode. As a matter of fact, it is reported the 11th episode had not been taped by June 17, 2015, as stated by a representative of KBS.

“The script for the ending scenario has not come out, yet. [We] are currently finishing with shooting episode 11.”

That means the 11th and 12th episodes only have one day each to finish filming, which is an intense time schedule as anyone who works in film will claim. Still, such a move was done to prevent spoilers for the series finale (especially the romances), as reported by KdramaStars. On that note, romance was a very unique subject in Producer. Though the direction favored that Baek Seung Chan (Kim Soo Hyun) would end up with Tak Ye Jin (Gong Hyu Jin), the love lines were ambiguous enough for fans to think otherwise.

Some audiences hoped that Baek Seung Chan would end up with Cindy (IU), but that was quickly quelled by the eighth episode. Others thought (or hoped) the 25-year platonic friendship of Tak Ye Jin and Ra Joon Mo (Cha Tae Hyun) would develop into something even more. Ergo, the love lines in Producer weren’t a triangle, but a square.

Now to be fair, everything could change with the upcoming airing of the 11th and final episode of Producer. It should be asked why the romantic endings need to be guarded if it is already expected both Baek Seung Chan and Tak Ye Jin are to end up together, unless they do not.

Nevertheless, fans of the K-drama will find out soon enough as Producer airs its finale, starting with the 11th episode today, June 19, 2015 at 9:15 p.m KST and tomorrow, June 20, 2015 at the same time. For those who do not have access to KBS, Producer is available to watch for free (with ads) on DramaFever.
