Bella Thorne Rejected ‘Scream Queens’ Lead To Die On ‘Scream’ Series?

Actress Bella Thorne reportedly turned down the lead role in the highly-anticipated series, Scream Queens in favor of a role in MTV’s Scream series.

In an interview with Hollywood Life, the 17-year-old actress explained why she rejected the lead role in the Ryan Murphy-created series to play a short-lived role in the TV series adaptation of the popular horror movie franchise.

“I had the option to do the lead, but I thought I should choose this role because I felt it was more iconic. I thought it was just a little bit more and also I’ve never been killed on screen before. I’ve never been killed ever on anything that I’ve done. I’ve always been the character that lives at the end so it was my first time dying on screen which is pretty cool. I wouldn’t say that my character isn’t necessarily in any more of the episodes but you’ll see!”

Even though Bella Thorne has been acting since she was nearly 5-years-old, the former Shake It Up actress has mostly been known for her various roles in television series and movies on the Disney Channel – including K.C. Undercover, Frenemies, Wizards of Waverly Places and Good Luck Charlie.

It might seem a little awkward for a young actress to give up the lead role of one potential hit series just to likely be killed off in the first episode of another.

The fact that Scream Queens is co-created by Ryan Murphy (Glee, Nip/Tuck, American Horror Story) makes it even more appealing to the average fan, critic, and celebrity. Chances are that Ryan Murphy’s involvement with this series is a main reason why the list of actors and actresses involved is so impressive.

However, her short-lived role on Scream is apparently not the only egg in Bella Thorne’s basket. As confirmed by Deadline back in March, Bella will have a leading role in the new ABC Family series Famous in Love, which is being executive produced and guided by Pretty Little Liars showrunner Marlene King.

In addition to her hectic acting schedule, Bella Thorne is still busy promoting her first novel, Autumn Falls, which was released in November 2014.
