Susan Sarandon: Son Miles Dons Dresses As Sarandon Supports LGBT Group, Slams Anti-Gay Teacher [Video]

Susan Sarandon takes pride in her son Miles. The 68-year-old actress revealed that her son Miles, who is a musician, plays with a band that sometimes appears sporting dresses. And that’s just fine with Susan, reported ABC News.

Sarandon, who participated at TrevorLIVE, to show her support for LGBT young people, explained that she deliberately brought up her daughter and sons to be tolerant and respectful of every human. And Miles proves that she succeeded in her goal of raising open-minded offspring, said Susan.

“My son Miles is a musician and a DJ and sometimes when his band performs they all wear dresses, and he has long hair.”

Tim Robbins, who is Susan’s ex, is the father of both Miles and their other son Jack Henry. In addition, Susan has a daughter Eva Amurri with Franco Amurri.

Sarandon was vocal about helping LGBT young people.

“As a mother, I know how difficult it is to survive the teenage years intact and the socialization process — if you step out of line, it’s so difficult. And there are so many kids these days who are questioning, gay or transgender, who have a very tough time and it could be very dangerous for them,” added Susan.

Sarandon also reflected on life beyond her son Miles, commenting on the expansion of conversations about gender.

“[The] fluidity of gender that’s happening,” summed up Susan of changes in society.

In addition, Sarandon recently slammed a teacher who had made anti-gay comments on Facebook, reported People.

When Susan learned that her nephew Scott Lyons had begged a previous high school teacher to stop making homophobic comments on social media, she dashed to defend her relative and express her pride in his desire to urge for acceptance.

“So proud of my nephew Scott and the dialogue he started. He was responding to a teacher he had at his high school who still believes that homosexuality is a learned behavior. High school is a tough time anyway… students don’t need teachers making it even more difficult.”

In addition to taking pride in her son Miles and defending his desire to wear dresses sometimes, ignoring age when it comes to her own relationships has become a hallmark for Susan.

Sarandon is currently dating 37-year-old ping-pong business entrepreneur pal Jonathan Bricklin, as the Inquisitr has previously reported.

And, given the 31-year-old age gap between Susan and her boyfriend and the previous 12-year age gap between Sarandon and her son Miles’ dad Tim Robbins, it’s not surprising that she views age as meaningless, reported Hello.

Even the gender of a person doesn’t matter to Susan, she revealed.

“It’s the soul of a person that interests me,” said Sarandon. “When you are in love, the question of age, sex, color no longer holds any importance.”
