Man Charged With Horrific Attack On Pregnant Woman, She Loses Baby And Is Fighting For Her Life–And Ambulance Never Arrived

Malorie Bantala, 21, was 32 weeks pregnant when, according to detectives, she was pushed to the ground by two men who viciously stomped on her “clearly visible” stomach. The horrific attack occurred in Talford Place, Peckham, on Monday. Unfortunately, she lost her unborn baby and is in critical condition in the hospital fighting for her life, according to Shwetadri’s View. But she is conscious and aware that she lost her child.

Unbelievably, after waiting over 70 minutes for an ambulance to take her to a hospital, police wound up taking her. The London Ambulance Service issued an apology. She was taken to a south London hospital, where it was discovered that there was no fetal heartbeat. Now suffering internal bleeding, Malorie is in intensive care.

Someone ran up to Malorie’s mother Ida, 49, and the person screamed that she should go downstairs quickly. That’s when Ida saw terrible sight of her daughter lying in the street, in distress. Ida stated the following, according to the Daily Mail.

“I rushed down and there she was just lying on the pavement with the police….She was just crying and crying. If you see your daughter like that, it’s awful. Words can’t explain it. Then an about an hour later maybe they took her to hospital and I went with her. Malorie was so excited about having the baby and we were all pleased for her. I wanted to be a grandma. She was so happy and now she is sick in hospital.”

Detective Chief Inspector Robert Pack from Scotland Yard said the following, according to the Daily Mail.

“It is quite clear she was heavily, heavily pregnant. She was given first aid in the street and taken to hospital. That child was totally viable. The law says at 28 weeks the child is viable of independent life. It has had a purely devastating impact of that young lady’s life and the sheer nastiness of the crime.”

Marjorie’s friends and family are rallying around her, hoping for a recovery. One neighbor indicated that it’s usually a quiet street, and she couldn’t believe it when she saw the condition in which Marjorie was discovered.

Police have charged Kevin Wilson, 20, of South East London, with child destruction, contrary to the Infant Life (Preservation) Act 1929, and grievous bodily harm with intent. He was to appear before the Magistrates.
