‘Princess Diaries 3’: Will There Be A Royal Engagement This Time?
Rumors abound that Disney will soon be producing a Princess Diaries 3, and it has fans begging for an answer to this question: Will there finally be a royal engagement? Disney has not officially announced the film, but CNN and other sources are convinced that it will be happening.
Despite teasing in Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement, the beloved, down-to-Earth Disney princess didn’t leave the set with a ring on her finger. Instead, she heart warmingly found her own sense of independence without the help of a man.
Now, 11 years later, fans are thrilled at the prospect of a new installment of the favorite series, and they’re excited to see where the story will lead. The extensive book series written by Meg Cabot offers plenty of material. In the books, Mia has several love interests, including her future husband, Michael Moscovitz, who appears in several of the books before they end up together.
However, Disney is well known for taking liberties with books, and this series is no different. The main love interest in Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement, Nicholas Devereaux, played by Chris Pine, doesn’t even exist in the written works. This leaves the world of possibilities wide open for the third film in the series.

If there is to be a third installment, Julie Andrews says that she would be on board. When asked if she would participate, she responded.

There’s no telling if the other co-stars will return, particularly Anne Hathaway and Chris Pine, who have made a major name for themselves following the series’s close.
Despite fans’ excitement, other sources say that there will not be a Princess Diaries 3 after all. They say that there is no film in production and no plans for it to be. However, that doesn’t mean that the film is out forever. Princess Diaries 3 could very well be in the future, with a royal engagement in the mix.
