Lyme Disease Sufferer Yolanda Foster Is ‘Determined To Rise’

Lyme disease sufferer Yolanda Foster continues to stay positive as she fights back against side effects of the debilitating illness. On June 16, Foster shared an inspiring message with fans on Instagram.

“There is no force more powerful than a woman determined to rise….. #BlastFromThePast #Goals.”

The Lyme disease sufferer was diagnosed with the illness in 2012, and has been struggling to get back on her feet ever since. In December, 2014, amid filming on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Season 5, Foster suffered a relapse, which set her back even further.

In addition to the disease keeping her from her weekly Bravo TV blogs as the fifth season aired, it also forced her to leave the reunion special early.

As the Inquisitr previously reported, the Lyme disease sufferer opened up about her Lyme disease struggles during her final Real Housewives of Beverly Hills blog on April 1. Speaking to fans, Foster revealed she and husband, David, had moved out of their Malibu, California, home, so that she could better focus on her health.

“My world has become very small. I have moved into an apartment with my husband and son in order to have a more manageable scope of responsibilities while I recover slowly and learn to take life one day at a time. Getting well is my full-time job these days. It took me a while to learn the true meaning of patience and surrender, but I have finally accepted that healing doesn’t happen on our schedule.”

In regard to missing out on hours of filming on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Season 5 reunion, the Lyme disease sufferer admitted she should have “stayed in bed” as the other women battled out their issues.

“I don’t feel like I added much to the conversation, even though I did give my best effort. I feel so raw and vulnerable as I make my way through the maze of this debilitating disease. Not having access to the ‘search button’ in my brain makes me really insecure and is a huge loss for me when trying to participate in life.”

Foster isn’t the only celebrity Lyme disease sufferer. Most recently, it was reported Ashley Olsen is also suffering from the disease, although she has not yet confirmed the report with press.

No word yet on whether or not Lyme disease sufferer Yolanda Foster will return to The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills for Season 6.
