‘Teen Mom 3’ Star Mackenzie Douthit Releases Rap Single [VIDEO]
Teen Mom 3 star Mackenzie Douthit has just followed in the footsteps of her fellow Teen Mom, Farrah Abraham, and released her first single. According to a June 16 report by Us Weekly, Douthit’s new song, “The Sweetest Treat,” is aimed at education listeners on diabetes awareness.
Below is an excerpt from the Teen Mom 3 star’s new single.
“Mackenzie here. And Imma tell you a little tale about why your sweets aren’t always a treat…When you got Type 2, got to watch your diet, but you gotta eat to keep your tummy quiet. If your body don’t produce enough insulin, that’s the stuff that you need to get your energy fixins.”
The Teen Mom 3 star’s song is currently available on iTunes, and a percentage of the profits will be put towards diabetes research.
As the Inquisitr previously reported, the Teen Mom 3 star has been making headlines since earlier this year, when it was reported that she and her husband, Josh McKee, were headed for divorce. Although things had gotten “pretty bad” between them at the time of the reports, the Teen Mom 3 star recently updated fans on her relationship, claiming she and McKee are now in a much better place.
In an interview with Wetpaint Entertainment, the Teen Mom 3 star explained.
“It got pretty bad and he did leave for a while, and we decided that we were going to get a divorce and separate. He went and stayed somewhere else, and we just decided that we don’t want to live without each other, and he came back, and he said, ‘I’m sorry.’ But I can’t put all the blame on him or all the blame on me because we just could not get along for the life of us.”
At the time, the Teen Mom 3 star said she and McKee were still working on their marriage, and that they were aware that things between them would never be perfect. In addition, she said if McKee was ever to leave her, she’d be extremely hurt.
“In the end, I’m glad I’ve held on and stayed with him because he really is a good husband and he’s really patient with me. I’m a really hard person to be married to. I don’t know how he does it some days. It’s vice versa also!”
