‘Halo 5’ Collector’s And Limited Edition Detailed, Includes ‘Halo: Fall Of Reach’ Animated Series

More details for Halo 5: Guardians has hit now that E3 is upon us. Specifically, updated information about the Limited and Collector’s Editions for the Xbox One shooter was released. Interestingly, it confirms that a new animated series is coming that tells the tale of Master Chief and the rest of the Spartan-II program.

The Halo 5: Guardians pre-order page on Halo Waypoint was updated with pre-order information for all three editions of the game. This is good news as the contents of both the Limited and Collector’s Edition have largely been unknown when 343 Industries first announced them last December.

Both editions are packed with physical goodies, which is a nice change from the Halo 4 release which was largely digital content. Both come with a model of one of the Forerunner Guardians along with steelbook, dossiers, and classified orders.

Meanwhile, the Collector’s Edition justifies its $250 price tag with a statue featuring both Spartan Locke and Master Chief. 343 Industries hasn’t released an official image of it (or the rest of physical goodies) yet, but a bigger version of the statue has been on display on the E3 show floor.

The Collector’s Edition also comes with the added bonus of a Warzone REQ Bundle. This comes with 14 Premium Requisition Packs, which are used in the newly announced Warzone 12 versus 12 versus everything mode. These are blind packs similar to Titanfall‘s Burn Cards. They are used to gain access to vehicles and power weapons only in Warzone. Players are still required to earn enough points to call in the vehicles and weapons though. The Requisition Packs also come with character skins and other non-gameplay impacting items.

The Collector’s Edition also adds Halo: The Fall of Reach – Animated Series. This is the origin story that was originally told in the novel by Eric Nylund released prior to Halo: Combat Evolved on the Xbox. It’s been retold in a comic book series and is constantly referred to in all of the expanded universe entries since. Now, we get to see John-117 and the rest of the Spartans in animated form. Reddit user SuperNerdyOne noticed what is likely an image from the animated series shown during an episode of Xbox Daily.

Here’s the full breakdown of the two bundles. The Limited Edition costs $100 while the Collector’s Edition is $250. Both will be released alongside the standard edition Halo 5: Guardians on October 27.
