‘Beverly Hills 90210’: Unauthorized Movie About 90’s Teen Drama Coming To Lifetime

Fans of the 90’s teen drama Beverly Hills 90210 are about to dive back in to the world of the rich, snobby kids of West Beverly Hills High School. No, there is not another reboot, spin-off, or sequel series in the works, but there is an unauthorized movie about what went on behind the scenes of the popular series starring Shannen Doherty, Luke Perry, Jennie Garth, Tori Spelling, Ian Zering, Gabrielle Carteris, Brian Austin Green, and Jason Priestley.

According to Hollywood Life, Lifetime Network has decided to get all the dirt on what really went on behind the scenes, and there should be some juicy drama to dish. It seems like after the network did biopics on the cast of Saved By The Bell and Full House that they decided to take on another fan favorite from the 90’s and give Beverly Hills 90210 a shot.

“[The movie] will show the roller coaster ride of the program’s first four seasons, highlighting the drama between cast members and producers both on and off-set, including the series’ journey from several near-cancellations to its massive success and imprint in the cultural zeitgeist and lasting impression it has made on millions of people to this day.”

It is well known that actress Shannen Doherty, who played one of the “Minnesota Twins” Brenda Walsh, caused a lot of drama on set and had a lot of arguments and feuds with her co-stars. As previously reported by the Inquisitr, some of Shannen’s feuds seem to still be ongoing. So, it seems likely that the actress who will portray Doherty in the movie will get a lot of screen time.

Beverly Hills 90210 ran for 10 Seasons on Fox and later came to star Tiffani Amber Thiessan from Saved By The Bell fame, Vanessa Marcil, and Hilary Swank. It became a huge favorite among fans and is a pop culture staple for being one of the best teen dramas to ever air on television. The series tackled issues like drug abuse, stalkers, unplanned pregnancy, alcoholism, mental illness, abuse, eating disorders, sex, and much, much more. Entertainment Weekly reports that an air date has not been announced for the made for TV movie.

Now, in an age where spin-off shows like Boy Meets World‘s Girl Meets World, and Full House‘s Fuller House are exciting fans there could be room for a 90210 reunion, although a spin-off was already done and cancelled by the CW. Actress Jennie Garth, who played Kelly Taylor on all 10 Seasons of the series says she’d be in to a reunion.

“If they came to me and talked to me about [a reunion], I would be open to it because that show is very important to my life! I would have to see who else says yes — I wouldn’t want it to be me and one other person!”
