As Jason Hoppy Moves On, Bethenny Frankel Talks Marriage

Jason Hoppy and Bethenny Frankel split years ago, but unfortunately, the former Real Housewives of New York City couple are still locked in a bitter divorce. During a June 15 appearance at the NYU Alumni Association’s Speakers on the Square event, via PEOPLE Magazine, Frankel looked back on her marital mistakes and discussed her spinoff.

“I think my instinct and gut going into my marriage [knew] it would turn out the way it did. I could feel it, but I intellectualized it. People are always talking about ‘Do I go with my head or my heart?’ Go with your gut.”

Jason Hoppy married Frankel in 2010 and by 2012, they had called it quits. Still, their marriage was far from over. Following months of custody hearings in regard to their daughter, Bryn, Jason Hoppy and Frankel settled their agreement, but remained at odds over Frankel’s Skinnygirl earnings. According to Jason Hoppy, he was at Frankel’s side throughout the creation of her million-dollar brand and should be given a portion of her earnings. Frankel, on the other hand, disagrees, and has shot down at least one settlement offer in order to keep Jason Hoppy out of her bank account.

As for her decision to appear on Bethenny Getting Married and Bethenny Ever After with then-husband Jason Hoppy, Frankel said she has no regret, regardless of how their marriage has played out. She did, however, feel iffy when the idea was first brought about.

“My gut did not like that we were doing a show together. My skin crawls thinking about it. I just did not feel right about it, and I kept saying, ‘I don’t want to be the Tori [Spelling] and Dean [McDermott] show. I don’t want to do this.’ And not because that’s a bad show but just because I just didn’t want to do that, and I didn’t go with my gut. It didn’t cause my divorce or anything, it’s just a whole new s—show that’s more of a s— show because of that.”

As the Inquisitr previously reported, Jason Hoppy recently stepped out with a new woman. Although the woman’s identity was not revealed, TMZ shared photos from an apparent date night between Jason Hoppy and his new lady, during which she was seen walking with him, arm-in-arm.

Jason Hoppy’s soon-to-be ex-wife stars on The Real Housewives of New York City, airing every Tuesday night at 9 p.m. on Bravo.
