Adrionna Williams: 2-Year-Old Found Dead Wasn’t ‘Missing’ Or Abducted, Report Says

Adrionna Williams’ body was found in the Pittsburgh, PA suburb of Swissvale on Sunday, June 14. According to Penn Live, the 2-year-old was reported missing around 7:05 p.m. Sunday evening. Police reported that the time recorded was approximately 30 minutes after Adrionna was last seen alive. However, an AMBER alert was not issued.

It is unclear why the Swissvale Police Department did not do so, but it definitely didn’t take long for local authorities to locate the child. Unfortunately, she was found dead in a wooded ravine area by a passerby.

Specific details about the series of events that led to the child’s death are still unclear. At this point, investigators are simply trying to piece together what may have happened to Adrionna. Although the child’s specific cause of death has yet to be determined, law enforcement officials are skeptical about how Williams arrived at the place where her lifeless body was discovered.

Allegheny County Homicide Lt. Andrew Schurman recently released a statement to KDKA-TV detailing the preliminary status of the case based on the investigative findings thus far, reports Associated Press.

“The child was found at roughly 7:40 in a remote area in Swissvale… At this point in the investigation we do not believe the child walked to the location where she was discovered,” Schurman said. “We have reason to believe she was placed there after her death. The investigation is ongoing and at this stage we do not believe the child was abducted by a stranger.”

According to Lancaster Online, Adrionna’s family and friends are currently being interviewed in order to determine what may have occurred prior to her death. However, no further details have been released about the death of Adrionna Williams. It has been reported that the Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office is expected to conduct an autopsy today.
