Zayn Malik Returning To One Direction: Did Harry Styles Just Confirm Reunion Rumors?

Reports that Zayn Malik is returning to One Direction are blowing up across the internet, and now it appears that his former bandmate Harry Styles has spoken out about the rumors of a reunion.

Or maybe not.

Many news outlets have been reporting on the quickly spreading rumors that One Direction could be whole again with the return of Zayn Malik. Many of the stories, including one from the UK’s Metro publication, included a tweet that appeared to be from Harry Styles talking about his friend and former bandmate returning to the group.

The tweet gave many fans hope that Zayn was indeed coming back to the group he left earlier this year. But more sharp-eyed readers noted that the tweet came from an account called @iHarry_Styls, which is a knockoff of the real singer.

The account followed the popular tweet about Zayn Malik returning to One Direction, with dozens of further tweets asking fans to subscribe to the account and turn on notifications, showing that it was either a spammer or a fan looking to draw attention or spread the rumors even further.

The rumors of Zayn’s possible return to One Direction were sparked by the band’s official website, which just put up Zayn’s bio again. But some fans have argued that his bio page was part of the website the whole time, staying up even after his departure.

Amid rumors that Zayn Malik might return to One Direction, one famous British rock star is predicting the demise of the entire group itself. Oasis frontman Noel Gallagher has spoken out about Malik’s decision to leave the group, saying he should have taken advantage in the little time the group has left together.

“I can’t understand why he would do it – because they’ve only got, at most, five years left,” Gallagher said.

Gallagher, famous for his love of the rock star lifestyle, had some further advice for what Zayn should have done.

“He should just stand at the back, smoke weed, get laid, just pick the cheque up and go home. But he should get himself a good accountant,” he said.

The rumors that Zayn Malik could be returning to One Direction appear to be off the mark. The singer has already moved on with his solo career and is working on his debut album, and he’s also been picked as a judge on the upcoming season of The X Factor.
