Hoops fans who watch the NBA Finals Game 5 live online certainly will not be alone. The Cleveland Cavaliers vs. Golden State Warriors series, in addition to proving itself one of the more exciting and drama-packed Finals series of recent years, is the most-streamed NBA event of all time.
To find out how you can join the nationwide online party and watch the NBA Finals Game Five streaming live online, see the information at the bottom of this article. Sunday’s crucial Cleveland Cavaliers vs. Golden State Warriors game tips off at 5 p.m. Pacific Time in Oakland, California, at Oracle Arena.
That’s 8 p.m. for viewers in the Eastern Time Zone — 7 p.m. Central and 6 p.m. Mountain time.
The thrilling NBA Finals series, with Lebron James attempting to lead the Cavaliers to their first NBA Championship in the history of the franchise, comes in tied at 2-2 before Sunday’s Game 5.
The back-and-forth series has been such a hit online that viewers have occasionally complained of brief slowdowns in the streaming video. Game 3 of the Cavaliers vs. Warriors series pulled in 736,200 online viewers, while Game 4 drew 744,500. Both numbers, as well as the figures for Game 1 (677,669 unique viewers) and Game 2 (704,000) are well over twice the numbers generated by live streaming of the 2014 NBA Finals.
Down 2-1 at the time, Game 4 saw Golden State regain the momentum in the series, as Coach Steve Kerr shuffled his lineup, led as always by league MVP Stephen Curry, to produce a smaller, quicker, more attacking offense.
While the size advantage of the James-led Cavaliers helped Cleveland dominate the boards as Golden State Center Andrew Bogut started the game on the bench, the offense more than made up for that deficiency, putting up its highest total of the series on the way to a 108-100 victory to even things up.
But James, who is seeking his third NBA ring after winning two Finals series with the Miami Heat, shrugged off the suggestion that Golden State now holds an advantage in the series.
“I think when you get to a championship-level type game with it being 2-2, I don’t think anyone has the momentum… Obviously, everyone would say them because they’re coming back home, and then after the game they had the other night, but the momentum starts once the game starts.”
