John Stamos Arrested For DUI, ‘Full House’s Uncle Jesse’ Released To Custody Of Hospital

Actor John Stamos was arrested for driving under the influence Friday night, according to multiple news outlets. Stamos, best known for his role as Uncle Jessie on Full House, was pulled over after multiple calls to the Beverly Hills Police Department indicated a car was driving recklessly.

The 51-year-old actor reportedly was riding alone when stopped by police at the corner of Santa Monica Blvd and Beverly Hills Dr. He proceeded to identify himself to police as John Stamos. Officers responding to the call were concerned Stamos was suffering from a medical event and transported him to a nearby hospital. It was then determined that Stamos was under the influence where he was placed under arrest, issued a citation, and released into the care of the hospital.

It is unknown at this time if Stamos was suffering from a medical condition or was simply intoxicated.

In 2010, Stamos sued two men for blackmailing him with claims that they had pictures in which the actor was using cocaine and partying with strippers. A jury sided with Stamos, stating that it was unbelievable that the actor would participate in such behavior and found him to be a victim of extortion.

John Stamos recently generated buzz while appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live when he noted a Full House reunion series would be happening on internet TV streaming service Netflix. The purported Fuller House is said to have most cast members returning, including Bob Saget and Candice Cameron-Bure, along with Stamos.

John made headlines again shortly after the announcement of Fuller House when Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen stated they weren’t in the loop regarding the reboot. Stamos responded by using an expletive to call them liars on Twitter before making up with the identical twins several days later.

While John Stamos is excited about revisiting the old days with his Full House reboot, his career is also moving forward as he is set to star in the new Fox show Grandfathered with Drake and Josh alum Josh Peck. In Grandfathered, Stamos plays a life-long bachelor who discovers he not only has a son, played by Peck, but a 2-year-old granddaughter.

According to the citation, Stamos is scheduled to appear in court regarding the DUI on September 11. Whether or not this affects the filming of either show could depend on the outcome not only of Stamos’ hospitalization but his court appearance for the DUI. As Jodie Sweeten’s Full House character Stephanie Tanner might say to John Stamos’ Uncle Jesse, “How rude!”
