Caitlyn Jenner Has Kind Words For Ex-Wife Kris Jenner On Social Media
Caitlyn Jenner spoke kindly of his ex-wife Kris on Friday by posting a sensitive message to her social media accounts. Reflecting on the Vanity Fair feature that included the first public photographs after her transition from Bruce Jenner, Caitlyn said she had good memories of her time with Kris.

As People reported, the road to understanding has not been easy for Caitlyn and Kris. Kris Jenner took some heat after then-Bruce Jenner was interviewed by Diane Sawyer in April. During the special, Jenner’s first two ex-wives offered supportive statements, but Kris gave “no comment.” Kris later denied ABC reached out to her.
During the E! Keeping Up With the Kardashians: About Bruce special, Kris said she was still trying to process the news of her former spouse’s gender transition. The special included a tense conversation between the couple, and Kris eventually offered her support.
In the Vanity Fair article, Kris Jenner denied she had prior knowledge of Caitlyn’s gender identity.
“When I met Bruce, he told me that he had done hormones back in the early ’80s. This was a conversation that took place in the early ’90s. So, what he was telling me happened a decade earlier, and he never really explained it…Nobody mentioned a gender issue.”
Caitlyn told Vanity Fair she might have downplayed the issue.
“Probably a mistake I made was maybe not having [Kris] understand—not the severity of it but that this is a condition you cannot get away from. From that standpoint, maybe I blew it away a little bit, sort of ‘This is what I do.'”
Caitlyn Jenner’s Vanity Fair reveal received widespread positive reaction. Jenner is set to star in a docu-series on E!, called I Am Cait, that follows her new life after embracing her female identity. A new promo quotes Jenner talking about her struggle.
“So many people go through life and they never deal with their own issues. No matter what their issues. Ours happen to be gender identity. Some waste their entire life.”
The Independent reported that the Keeping Up With the Kardashians: About Bruce special received the network’s highest-ever ratings.
I Am Cait is set to debut on July 26.
