Robogeddon: Fighting Robots Return To TV

The days of robot fighting television will soon return. Director James Cameron and reality star producer Mark Burnett are teaming up for a new robot fighting show called Robogeddon on the Discovery Channel.

Discovery hasn’t said too much about the new show but according to the Wrap it will be similar to “Battlebots,” which aired on Comedy Central from 2000-2002. Engineer Donald Hutson, who won two Super Heavyweight titles on “BattleBots,” will be competing on “Robogeddon.” (You can watch one of Huston’s fights below.)

Discovery also announced a few other shows that will be hitting the small screen this year. Favorites like American Chopper, Dirty Jobs, and Mythbusters will be returning this year. The Discovery Channel will also air specials on Amelia Earhart and the Watergate Scandal.

Mark Burnett, who produced “Sarah Palin’s Alaska,” will be returning to the Northern state for another series. This time, however, Palin isn’t along for the ride. Mark Burnett’s Alaska will take a look at the life and culture of the people living in Alaska.

Are you excited for Robogeddon? Discovery has not set a premiere date for the new robot fighting show yet.

Here’s a taste of what’s in store from the show “Battlebots.”
