Bill Murray Runs The Bases At Wrigley Field Before Throwing Out First Pitch [Video]

Bill Murray kicked off the Chicago Cubs season by throwing out the ceremonial first pitch on opening day at Wrigley Field. But before he performed his official duties, the “Ghostbusters” star took a little jog around the bases.

Murray, a lifelong Cubs fan, sprinted down the first base line, then jogged to second, almost had a heart attack at third, then slid into home plate.

After throwing out the first pitch, Murray was also given the task of singing “Take Me Out to the Ballgame” during the 7th inning stretch.

This isn’t the first time that Murray has taken part in the Chicago Cubs’ festivities. The elusive film star, who grew up a Chicago Cubs fan in Wilmette, Illinois, once sat in for Harry Carey and announced the starting lineup. (See the video below.)

Murray also narrated a Chicago Cubs documentary last year called “Ballhawks.” (The movie took a look at the people who stand outside Wrigley Field to catch homerun balls.)
