‘Real Housewives’ Shannon Beador’s Husband’s Affair Was ‘Devastating’ To Their Children

The Real Housewives of Orange County’s 10th season premiere included a shocking moment involving cast member Shannon Beador and her husband, David. During the episode, Beador revealed David cheated on her last year.

In a June 12 interview with Radar Online, the Real Housewives star opened up about her decision to air her husband’s affair on the show and how the infidelity effected their three children, Sophie, Stella, and Adeline.

“We went back and forth with the decision [to go public] for quite some time and whether or not we should put our family and our kids through it. After a lot of counseling with our church, our counselors and with our children – a lot of discussions with our children – we decided that this was an opportunity to show couples that you don’t have to throw in the towel after something like this happens.”

As for how her children reacted to the news of their father’s affair, the source said, “It is so devastating to the kids.”

During The Real Housewives of Orange County Season 9, Beador and her husband hit a rough patch in their relationship. However, after several episodes, they appeared to get their relationship to a much better place. Then, after filming on the season wrapped, Beador discovered hotel receipts in her husband’s briefcase and questioned him about a possible affair. In April of last year, David admitted to the affair, and in the months after, the Real Housewives couple attended counseling, as well as a couple’s retreat, in an effort to get through David’s affair and get their marriage back on track.

“The problem with David and I is that we are too honest. We wear our hearts on our sleeves and we can’t be fake. Sometimes it bites us in the ass, but we are just honest.

“Our story is different because we are digging deeper into our relationship and you typically don’t see the middle part. You see that there is an issue and this is where the couple is today. We are letting you see the high and lows of us repairing our marriage.”

As the Inquisitr previously reported, Beador also opened up about her decision to expose David’s affair in her Real Housewives blog last week. Speaking to fans, Beador said she hoped other couples could learn from her husband’s mistake and better work through their issues having seen what they went through.
