‘Slender Man Stabbing’ Teen Gets Internet Access In Jail

One of the girls in the notorious Slender Man stabbing case is allowed to have internet access while in jail. ABC News 19 reports that Anissa Weier has been granted permission to have extra schooling and internet access while she is held behind bars awaiting trial. This news comes while both girls’ attorneys await a judge’s decision on more than one filed motion. Meanwhile, social media is lit up with conversation about this horrendous crime and the three girls at the center of it.

Anissa Weier is currently being held at the West Bend Juvenile Facility, where she has already had very limited access to educational resources. That access did not previously include use of the internet. Now a judge has granted the young girl access to the internet, but only for access to learning materials necessary to give her an uninterrupted education while awaiting and going through a the trial associating with the now-notorious Slender Man stabbing.

Fox News 11 reports that Weier has been charged as an adult along with her friend Morgan Geyser in the attempted murder of one of their young classmates. All three of the girls were 12-years-old when Geyser and Weier attacked their classmate and left her for dead after stabbing her at least 19 times to please the fictional character Slender Man. Both Weier and their victim have since turned 13-years-old, and both suspects are waiting to find out if they will remain charged as adults for when their trial begins.

The classmate victim in this case, Payton Leutner, has recovered fully from the 2014 incident, and has since turned 13-years-old, despite the attempts of her two classmates. She has even spoken publicly and appeared for interviews, after healing from approximately 19 different stab wounds. Her harrowing story is a horrific one that many people are not lucky enough to survive. However, it’s hard to say at this point whether or not she will get justice for what has happened to her. That’s because attorneys representing the girls accused of stabbing her have filed motions to dismiss the case.

Do you think either of the Slender Man stabbing suspects deserve rights to use the internet or get schooling? It should be noted that the most recent reports aren’t sharing any details about how Morgan Geyser is doing, or if she’s being given any special treatment (such as school and internet) like her codefendant Anissa Weier. Hopefully more information comes out soon before their trial begins.
