‘GTA V’ Users Are Reporting Missing Vehicles After Installing Title Update 1.27

After installing this week’s new update for Grand Theft Auto V, some gamers are experiencing issues where their previously stored personal vehicles can become missing. Acknowledging that they are aware of the issue in a statement from their Twitter support account, Rockstar Games reassured fans that they are currently looking into how to fix this newly-introduced GTA V bug.

“We’re investigating an issue w/ today’s GTA Online update where cars put in storage prior to the update can be lost.”

On Rockstar’s official support website, the developer offered more details behind the vehicle storage issue that was introduced alongside Grand Theft Auto V’s Title Update 1.27. The team has discovered that users are running into problems only with vehicles that were stored in personal garages prior to downloading the patch. Any vehicles that are saved after installing the newest update for GTA V are reported to be safe.

“We are aware of an issue where vehicles in storage can be missing when downloading Title Update 1.27, and we are looking into a permanent fix now. This only occurs on vehicles that were in storage before Title Update 1.27. If you’ve placed vehicles in storage after the update, you should not have any issues.”

Rockstar Games believes that the issue is caused when people downgrade one of their properties to a smaller garage within GTA Online. Moving to the new location can cause previously saved vehicles to become lost even if the new property has enough garage spaces to hold all of the previously stored vehicles. While the developer is currently investigating ways to fix the issue, GTA V users should refrain from changing garage properties for now. In the meantime, Rockstar Games has suggested that players who have lost vehicles should try to repurchase a larger garage to see if their cars are restored.

“To get your vehicles back, simply re-purchase a 10-car garage and reboot GTA Online. Your vehicles will be in your garage as soon as you log in again. If this step does not work for you, please submit a request to our team and we will return any missing vehicles to your garage.”

As the Inquisitr reported yesterday, Grand Theft Auto V’s Title Update 1.27 was launched this week alongside the new “Ill-Gotten Gains” DLC update for GTA Online. The newly available downloadable content for GTA V addresses several in-game bugs in addition to adding new items to the game including vehicles, weapons, and customization options.
