What Happened To Leaona Wright? Baby Missing For Six Days
Authorities in South Carolina are looking for missing baby Leaona Wright. The one-year-old infant vanished six days ago under suspicious circumstances, and now authorities say that they don’t believe some of what they’ve been told over the course of the search and investigation. Did this missing child fall victim to some kind of foul play, or has her disappearance been caused by something else entirely? Greenville News Online reports that Crime Stoppers is also offering a reward in the amount of $1,000 in hopes of finding this missing child.
WYFF News 4 reports that the information given to police by the missing baby’s loved ones has been “inconsistent.” The stories shared by the child’s mother, Kiara Sullivan, and her boyfriend, Travis Jones, have led authorities to this conclusion. Initially they told authorities that the missing baby’s three-year-old sibling opened the front door of their home, which led to the child crawling out the door and disappearing. However, authorities have confirmed that this did not happen.
They also believe that the child was already missing by the time the mother had arrived home from a party at 5:30 a.m., the day her disappearance was reported to police. On the other hand, the mother told police that she discovered her daughter missing when she woke up at around 9:30 a.m. on Saturday. She said the front door was open, which is evidently how the three-year-old sibling was blamed for opening the door of their home, letting out the baby. Leaona Wright, at one-year-old, was not old enough to walk. However, she was reportedly crawling.
It’s hard to tell what actually happened to one-year-old Leaona Wright, but authorities in Anderson County intend to get to the bottom of this case. There are many possibilities in this disappearance, but authorities have confirmed that no searches are planned at this time for the missing infant. This is indicative of the direction in which the investigation is going. However, police in Anderson County have confirmed that searches will take place if any information or leads points them in that type of direction.
