Niamh Geaney: Irish Woman Finds Another Doppelganger Through ‘Twin Strangers’ Campaign

As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Niamh Geaney and her friends came up with the idea for the website, Twin Strangers, to see how many doppelgangers they had in the world. Geaney discovered that she had one doppelganger near her hometown of Dublin, Ireland, and the two got to meet in person.

Several months after meeting her first doppelganger, Karen Branigan, Niamh Geaney got to meet another one. This time, she travelled to Genoa, Italy, to meet her. According to ABC News, before Geaney met with her second doppelganger, Luisa Guizzardi, she met with the person’s longtime friend, who told her she and Geaney have “the same presence and aura.”

“When I finally met her in person, it was crazy. She’d scrunch her nose the same way as me, play with her hair the same way, shrug her shoulders the same way and even talk with her hands similarly.”

Niamh Geaney said it was Guizzardi who contacted her and requested a meet-up, after she discovered the previous video showing Geaney meeting with her first doppelganger.

“From there, I was just kind of like, ‘Hey, what do you think about me flying over there?’ and she was super excited about it, so it was easy to set up.”

The Twin Strangers YouTube channel uploaded a video of Geaney’s meet-up with her second doppelganger. In the video, Niamh Geaney meets with Guizzardi’s mother, who thought she was her daughter at first.

Geaney explains that she thought after going through it once already, she would be prepared to meet another doppelganger. But that wasn’t the case.

“I just got really, really nervous [about] meeting her because, you know, what does she think of me as well? Would I live up to her expectations?”

The two women, both 27, decided to try an experiment to see exactly how alike they could look. They both put on the same amount of makeup and applied the same contact lenses. Once that process was over, Geaney and Guizzardi then went to take pictures together, Geaney said.

“I was impressed with what we got. I really do think, though, that we look more alike in person than we do in photographs.”

Guizzardi added that she and Geaney probably have more alike than just looks.

“Maybe, I actually think we have a similar soul, even — not only similar face, but we are kind of like [soul mates].”

Niamh Geaney is one of the creative minds behind the Twin Strangers site, and she said she has five other doppelgangers out there in the world. Geaney told ABC News that her website’s popularity is surging, and if there is anybody who is curious about meeting with their doppelganger, she and her team will help.

“For people we feel are really close matches, we’re going to offer to pay for their flights and accommodations, so they can meet in person, too.”
