Sam Smith: I’m Gonna Try My Absolute Best To Sing My Heart Out

Sam Smith is one singer with great vocals. Having risen to fame in 2012 following the release of “Latch,” which became one of the most popular singles in the U.K., Sam Smith has since had a growing number of fans.

However, Sam Smith recently suffered a great setback in his career after suffering from hemorrhages in his vocal cords, which led to vocal cord surgery, leaving him unable to sing for about three weeks.

Smith was forced to cancel his ongoing Australian tour due to the condition.

Speaking to BBC Radio 1, Sam Smith said the following about it.

“I just went to sing and something wasn’t right, something was hurting in my throat. I had vocal haemorrhages on my cords… I’d just been singing too hard for too long.”

The following is about the time Sam Smith was out of action.

“It was horrendous. It was so bad. But I got through and everyone’s been so amazing about it, so thank you.”

Apparently, Sam Smith also used a miming app on his phone to communicate.

“I did use my phone, where you can type in what you want to say and it’ll say it for you. But it doesn’t swear a lot, which is really annoying!”

However, Sam Smith also added that the resting days were a blessing in disguise, as they also gave him an opportunity to take a break, although the thought of cancelling the shows was hard to bear.

The following is on his recovery.

“I’ve just been like singing in the shower and stuff. I’m just trying to take it slow… I’ve got two more weeks chill time. My first show is 3 July which is Thetford Forest [Forest Live] and from then I’m back on the normal schedule.”

Sam Smith had, earlier in the week, also posted a video clip for his fans on Twitter to announce his upcoming tour starting July 3.

“As you can see, I can speak again for the first time in three weeks, and it has been horrible sitting in silence and knowing that I should be doing shows has killed me… I’m gonna try my absolute best to sing my heart out, every night. Please bear with me as always.”

He also wrote this on Twitter a few hours ago.
