Ken Ham: Miley Cyrus Might As Well Have Sex With Animals

Miley Cyrus has been speaking out about sexuality, religion, and the intersection between the two — where some religious beliefs advocate for limits on the rights of people of certain sexualities. Specifically, she’s been talking about her foundation, Happy Hippie, a nonprofit devoted to helping LGBT youth. In order to discuss this, though, Miley Cyrus ended up in a naked photo shoot with her pet pig — and she ended up insulting some Biblical literalists.

Specifically, Cyrus offended the Creation Museum’s Ken Ham. Ham takes the Bible very literally — he believes that fossils aren’t as old as scientists say, and that the stories of Adam and Eve, Noah’s Ark, and Sodom and Gomorrah are literal truths — not parables about how to treat people and obey God. He’s currently building a theme park based on Noah’s Ark, working to demonstrate that an immense number of animals really could fit on a wooden boat.

It’s understandable, then, that he’d be a little hurt that Miley Cyrus called Noah’s Ark “a fairy tale” comparing it to Santa and the Tooth Fairy. It’s understandable that Ham, who believes all morality comes from the Bible, might be confused about where Miley Cyrus finds her morals, if not there.

It’s a bit less understandable that he responded by suggesting that Miley Cyrus might as well have sex with animals — and that the fact that she doesn’t proves that she really does believe the same things he does.

Besides, if there’s no God and she’s just a result of evolution, then she is merely an animal anyway. And those she interacts with sexually are just animals—so why not any animals?

He goes further though — Ham goes on to suggest that Miley is also erring by drawing the line at age 18.

If there’s no God, why have any age restriction? On what basis would she argue against pedophilia?

Why would Miley Cyrus not dive headfirst into pedophilia and bestiality, if she doesn’t believe in a God — specifically, if she doesn’t share Ken Ham’s Young-Earth Creationist beliefs? Might it be because Cyrus is capable of understanding the definition of “consent” and that some people can’t give it due to age, and that animals can’t give it at all?

Not according to Ken Ham.

It’s actually because in her heart she knows God exists (Romans 1), she knows she is different from the animals as she is made in God’s image (Genesis 1)—and she has a conscience (as seared as it is because of her sinful rebellion) because the law is written on our hearts (Romans 2).

In short, Ken Ham seems to be claiming that Miley Cyrus must really believe the same things he does, or she’d be happily raping minors and forcing herself on animals.

He has a solution, though: Ham would like Miley Cyrus to come visit his Ark Park in Kentucky, where, he believes, she could have a change of heart.
