Bobbi Kristina Brown Update: Family Says New Book is Disrespectful, Author Says ‘The Truth Hurts’

While Bobbi Kristina Brown continues to fight for her life after being found comatose in a bathroom in her Roswell, Georgia home, author Ian Halperin released a tell-all book on the young lady and her mother, Whitney Houston. Yesterday, however, a family member stated that releasing the book is disrespectful and unacceptable.

Bobbi Kristina’s cousin, Jerod Brown, took to Facebook to express his concerns about Whitney & Bobbi Kristina: The Deadly Price of Fame. Jerod, clearly upset about the details he read, feels that the author, Ian Halperin, acted callously by releasing the unauthorized book.

“Ian Halperin, i personally find you to be very disrespectful to even consider to release an unauthorized book about my sis at a time like this. I encourage the public to not take part of supporting this mess. Bobbi Kristina has dealt with enough as is, and bashing her/ her parents, is totally unacceptable.”

One part of the new book states that Bobbi Kristina began using drugs at age 14, attempted suicide at age 15, and tried to stab her own mother before sent in for a psychiatric evaluation.

Halperin, however, indicated in a recent interview with The Wrap that there are numerous people that know the Brown family and the Houston family that support his new book. Yet, he claims that others are upset because they’d rather not hear the truth about the situation.

“Most people surrounding the Houstons and Browns are very supportive of this book. If you read it, it’s very fair, very balanced. I’m not out to do a hatchet job. I never do. I’m out to get to the truth. Unfortunately, sometimes the truth hurts.”

Another thing the book touched upon, however, is the botched work of the Roswell Police Department, which is stalling the investigation of the January 31 incident that left Bobbi Kristina comatose.

Halperin indicated that the police department doesn’t have enough resources for a proper investigation. He also states that the police didn’t do enough to stop Bobbi Kristina’s alleged heroin use, which according to Halperin, is what led to her current condition.

“Police have botched the investigation, mainly because they are basically a small-town police department with limited resources. I’m suggesting that the Atlanta PD takes it over.”

Halperin indicates that he knew Whitney Houston’s late father, which helped him gain access to hundreds of other people connected to the family. Additionally, he said he was already suspicious of Nick Gordon, 26, prior to the January 31 incident. Once the tragedy occurred, Halperin felt that he needed to get a book out so that people would be informed of the suspicious people that plagued Bobbi Kristina’s life.

“I was suspicious about her behavior and Nick Gordon’s behavior in the months and days leading up to January 31. And when it happened, I felt it was important to get the truth out there, to get the story behind the story.”

Meanwhile, there’s no change in Bobbi Kristina Brown. She remains in a long-term rehabilitation center in Atlanta. Family members continue to ask for support and prayers.
