Cristiano Ronaldo Transfer To PSG? French Side Have A Secret Plan To Land Forward

Paris Saint-Germain have a secret plan to land Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo, and they’re even willing to sell some of their own players to land their No. 1 target.

According to L’Equipe, a leading French publication, via Eurosport, PSG are preparing a $130 million bid for Ronaldo. However, they will only be able to place their offer in the summer of 2016.

PSG would actually love to try and purchase Ronaldo over the next few weeks. In fact, they are even threatening to make a bid in the near future because of Real Madrid’s interest in their midfielder, Marco Verratti. Real Madrid are believed to have cooled their interest in Verratti because of PSG’s declaration.

It would ultimately cost PSG over $300 million to land Cristiano Ronaldo, when you take into account that they would have to pay the Real Madrid forward $18 million a year, and pay his agent, Jorge Mendes, a fee too.

However, PSG will be more than aware that signing Ronaldo, who is widely regarded to be, alongside Lionel Messi, one of the best players in the history of soccer, would be a real coup.

In order to sign him, though, they will also have to work around the transfer restrictions that have been imposed by Financial Fair Play. But the fact that UEFA are set to relax these limitations in the next few months means that PSG are confident they can land their man.

This is another reason why Paris Saint-Germain are likely to wait until 2016 to make their bid, because the current restrictions imposed by UEFA mean that they’re unable to afford him at the present moment.

However, another facet to this transfer is that PSG might try and raise funds to purchase Ronaldo this summer by selling several players from their roster. Gazzetta dello Sport, via Daily Star, have insisted that PSG’s owner, Nasser al-Khelaifi, is so desperate to land the three-time World Player of the Year that they’re even willing to sell Zlatan Ibrahimovic, their talisman of the last few seasons, for a fee of just $20 million.

The likes of Chelsea, Manchester United, Liverpool, and Arsenal are likely to be interested in the player, while AC Milan would also be interested in bringing the 33-year-old forward back to the San Siro.

It has previously been teased that Cristiano Ronaldo is looking for a transfer away from Real Madrid because of the recent sacking of Carlo Ancelotti, and the hiring of former Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez as his replacement.

However, there are several Real Madrid records that Ronaldo would like to break before he does depart, and he is likely to break them over the coming season, which means that a transfer in 2016 is more likely.
